Welcome to World Academy for Total Community Health! A high school for students interested in careers in the health industries.

From the Principal

Welcome to our school web site. This page will give you information about our academic program and school events. Our school is a college preparatory high school with a focus on the total health of all members of the school community.

During the summer we have been accomplishing our mission of exposing students to all aspects of the health care field and the variety of career options the industry offers. Our students have participated in medical and science research internships this summer at Sloan Kettering Memorial Medical Center and at other facilities in the city.

The 2007-2008 school year is a new and exciting time at WATCH. We will implement a longer school day to provide increased credit accumulation for all students and continue to provide elective courses such as chorus, yoga, computer technology, Forensic science and AVID. Students will be able to receive AP credit for English and Biology, and all students will participate in our service learning program. Additionally, students will take College Now courses in Spanish, Speech, Latin, psychology, introduction to acting and dance.

Our Mission :
To prepare adolescents to make healthy choices, lead healthy lives, and advocate for the total health of their families, their community, their nation and ultimately, their world;

Exposing students to all aspects of the health care field and the variety of career options the industry offers,

To create a learning environment that is socially supportive;

To offer a curriculum that is academically rigorous and designed to ensure that students pass standardized high school requirements and qualify for the pursuit of higher education and lifelong activism.
